In the spring of 2007 I did this drawing of a bicycle on a pattern rainbow over a field of flowers and have always wanted to use it for something. Finally I tried it out on a tee shirt, and I’m pretty pleased with the result.
I love bicycles, I love rainbows, I love patterns, and I love fields of flowers! Plus I like tee shirts, so this project pleases me greatly.
My friend’s band, Bird City, was playing in New Orleans this weekend. Since the show was after the Endymion parade, I decided to wear a variation of my costume from that day. I thought it was a fun re-interpretation of my Rainbow Peacock theme!
Although I grew up in New Orleans, I’ve never costumed for parades before. Since this is my boyfriend’s first Mardi Gras we decided to go all out for the full experience.
